33 Truths at Salvation for Every Believer

On the Rock, Christ Jesus

Key Verse: 1 Corinthians 3:11  ·  NASB1995

Key Verse

“For no man can lay a foundation other than the one which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.”

1 Corinthians 3:11

Whatever storms come, your standing doesn’t rest on your own performance or feelings. It rests on a foundation that cannot be shaken, because it isn’t yours to maintain.

Also See

“having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being the corner stone,”

Ephesians 2:20 · NASB1995

“Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and anointed us is God,”

2 Corinthians 1:21 · NASB1995

“No man can lay a foundation other than the one which is laid, which is Jesus Christ” (1 Cor. 3:11), and Ephesians 2:20 pictures the whole household of God “built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being the corner stone.” Second Corinthians 1:21 adds that God Himself is the one who “establishes us” in Christ — the foundation is not something you maintain, but something He laid and keeps.

Reflect

  1. What are you tempted to build your sense of security on besides Christ Himself?
